The most visited country in SE Asia. Buddhism pervades the country and makes for a peaceful, polite and friendly population. The sight of saffron robes is common. Most boys will spend part of their youth in a monastery, attending school whilst there. It is not uncommon for men to spend time in a monastery, a kind of sabbatical from work.
